Optics and Optical Technologies

 

The lecture first deals with the basics of geometrical optics and wave optics. Furthermore, the operation of simple optical components and methods for their calculation will be explained. For this purpose, a understanding of pyhsics in the areas of propagation and description of electro-magnetic waves, interference, diffraction theory, polarization, etc. will be shown. Based on this, it will be shown how individual optical components can be calculated and mathematically described. In addition, the theory of simple optical components, such as lenses, as well as the theory of optical instruments is explained.
